Pub Crawl Day 2: Play day at Port Clinton and Put In Bay, Ohio

The day dawns bright but the forecast is muggy and high 90's.  The cars appeared unharmed by the gulls who frequent the tall poles and skies near the lake.

Above is Charlie Millers '05 Roadster, Bob McKenna's late 80's Plus 8, my '05 Roadster along with others too small in this picture to see.

Some of us have too much energy... Missy and Char doing their morning speed walk through the streets of Port Clinton.

We gathered for the 10:15 sailing of the Jet Express to Put in Bay... a speedy 22 minute run at 45 mph.

The speed of the boat kept the temps reasonable despite the sun,  Bruce and Gary and the Millers (Beth and Charlie) enjoying the ride.

This sure looks like Key West, Fl, but on closer look it is an ad for a bar.  Who would have guessed.

We found an 8 passenger golf cart in which to tour the island.  Reg was a marvelous chauffeur though we found the turning radius to be similar to an 18-wheeler.

After a driving tour of the island we all wanted to see the newly refreshed and just re-opened Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial.

The Put-In-Bay marina from atop Perry's Monument... 314 feet high.  From here we could see Pelee Island, Canada

Put In Bay was the site of some spectacular sports car racing in the fifties.  You can almost still hear the rumble of the engines.

Fish Taco's for lunch.... Lake Erie Perch of course.

Charlie Miller, our tour director, planner and coordinator enjoys respite from the heat.

And the ride home on the Jet Express.

Tomorrow we get in the Morgans and head North.  It should be cooler then too.  Look out Michigan, here we come.
